Marco Lombardi, CEO of Proger, has been named “CEO of the Year” at the fourth edition of the OICE Awards, presented by the Confindustria-affiliated association representing Italy’s engineering, architectural and technical-economic consulting firms. The recognition, marked by the association’s distinctive Lego brick, was presented on Wednesday, June 17, during the awards ceremony, where 17 prizes were handed out across various categories from a field of 200 nominations.
“I am equally surprised and honoured by this award,” said Lombardi. “Awards are never a finishing line, but a starting point: a sign that your peers have recognised your work and your commitment. Sometimes they are expected, ceremonial gestures; in other cases, the very source from which they come is what establishes their sincerity, and therefore their worth. The OICE award belongs to the second kind, for me and for Proger. It is no small thing to receive an expression of esteem from an association with which the relationship has been one of frank exchange and, at times, open disagreement. That is precisely why I value it so greatly, and seeing so many exceptional, passionate Italian engineers, architects and entrepreneurs gathered at that wonderful, well-attended evening only strengthens Proger’s resolve to engage more directly within OICE.“
“I am convinced that in this particular moment of transformation in Italian society, the role of those who have made the pursuit of ingenuity their life’s mission, engineers, architects and entrepreneurs who love to build, is precious to the community as a whole. Full steam ahead!“, concluded Lombardi.
Lombardi’s recognition at the 2026 OICE Awards is a further incentive to continue the path of growth and innovation that has always defined Proger, contributing to an engineering practice that is increasingly sustainable, resilient and future-oriented.
