Highway 95 – Brienza Bypass

Description

The Brienza Bypass of Highway 95 is a fundamental link in the completion of the southern Italy artery connecting the Sicignano – Potenza motorway junction and the A2 motorway. The project aims to speed up the current route and free the inhabited area of Brienza from traffic, thanks to a bypass that presents 3 junctions, 2 natural galleries, 1 artificial gallery and 6 viaducts, with a maximum span of 90 m and all built with a mixed steel-concrete deck system placed on elastomeric anti-seismic isolators. The complex context of the work pushed Proper’s engineers to propose track optimization solutions that allowed to reduce construction and maintenance costs, and limit the environmental and landscape impact.
