Proger signed an agreement to supply engineering and environmental permitting services for the preparation of the Feasibility Study, the Final Project and the Environmental Impact study, aimed at the Single Authorisation (AU) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures, for the development of wind farms and related connection works to the electricity grid on the Italian territory.
The client is one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, with over 150 GW of power installed in more than 80 countries. The company, which is not limited to the role of wind turbine supplier but also develops wind power plant projects, relied on Proger’s services to expand its presence in the Italian market..
The activities included in the agreement, starting with the customer’s identification of the site on which to place the wind farm, are divided into various steps that cover feasibility analyses and environmental and landscape constraints in the area; the definition of the project layout and positioning of the wind turbines; the application for the connection to the transmission grid operator; the development of all the project documentation required for authorisation purposes and studies aimed at the Environmental Impact Assessment; assistance services with the authorities concerned and the activation of optional activities such as drone surveys and birds monitoring.
“In the wind power sector Proger already boasts important contracts and completed projects, and this new agreement represents a step forward in our path of growth in the sector” comments Rocco Marsico, director of the Green Energy BU. “This is an assignment of great technical depth, in which the company is called to provide a wide range of services, as the primary technical/authorisation interface within the Italian territory and legislation, for one of the most important players in the world“.
