Sustainability Report

A shared journey toward sustainable excellence

Proger's values

Sustainability is one of the five pillars on which Proger has based its development strategy. This strategy mirrors the company’s aspiration to transcend mere economic expansion, instead striving to make a meaningful and responsible contribution to the social and environmental advancement of the regions within which it operates. In this context, sustainability is not seen as an accessory element. It is seen as a strategic lever for innovation, competitiveness, and long-term business resilience.

Proger aims to build a future focused on generating shared value, meaning the ability to create concrete and lasting benefits for society and all stakeholders.

Letter to the Stakeholders

Dear Stakeholders,
We are proud to present our financial statements and sustainability report together. This decision fully reflects our vision: Proger believes that the only possible form of economic growth is sustainable growth.

This is our secret formula.

Proger has evolved into a stable, consistently expanding company, achieving its most profitable results to date in 2024 and regularly surpassing previous records each year:

  • The group’s production value grew to over €206 million, with Proger SpA alone rising to €181.5 million.
  • EBTDA margin grew to 15.47%, up from 13.8% the previous year.
  • The public financial rating by Cerved increased from A2.2 to A2.1.
  • The public sustainability rating by Cerved also increased, placing Proger in class A among the top ESG performers in its sector.
  • Proger also obtained ESG verification certification in 2024, issued in accordance with the UNI ISO/TS 17033:2020 and UNI/PdR 102:2021 standards.
  • The public legality rating issued by the Italian Competition and Market Authority increased to a score of three stars.

But our ambition goes beyond numbers and certifications.

We grow because we believe in a business model based on positive impact, responsibility, and culture. Growth has never been an objective in itself, but rather, it has always been guided by ethics, responsibility, and the positive impact we want to generate inside and outside the company.

Our company is first and foremost a community of people united by shared values and a strong cultural identity.

Our true capital is this human and professional fabric, capable of tackling complex challenges with passion and expertise.

We are proud of our technical know-how and, above all, our ability to leave our mark. Each project we undertake brings an idea of the future and leaves a cultural and social imprint on the territories and communities in which we operate.

This year, we launched an important change management program to accompany a corporate reorganization process that is both structural and identity-based. In 2024, we started writing our PROGER Manifesto together to strengthen and highlight the culture that unites us.

We launched a major change management program this year to accompany a corporate reorganization process that is not only structural, but also identity-based. In 2024, we started drafting the PROGER Manifesto of Values, aiming to strengthen and highlight our shared culture.

We also launched a compensation analysis program to make our employment policy more equitable, transparent, and inclusive because PROGER’s value is measured by the quality of its relationships with its employees.

We are proud to be the first engineering company with a Business Unit dedicated to Art & Culture because we believe soft power—the ability to influence through culture—is fundamental to generating lasting change in our operating contexts.

We believe in the power of research and innovation, which is why we invest in research and development to help shape future energy policies, particularly those related to safeguarding fundamental resources such as water.

We are a company that knows how to get things done, but, above all, we know how to think. We build infrastructure and projects, as well as meaning, vision, and relationships.
Our expertise is solid, but our ambition is to leave a lasting cultural and social mark.

We ended 2024 by defining a 2025-2029 business plan that will lead Proger to double its production and profit values. This ambitious business plan will require significant investments but is essentially based on a solid portfolio (with over half a billion in backlog) and projects in the pipeline.

We look ahead knowing that sustainability—economic, environmental, and social—is a method, not a goal. Every result we have achieved and will achieve is the fruit of a collective effort.

Thank you to all the women and men of Proger.
With esteem.

CEO Marco Lombardi
