Proger has decided to face, spontaneously and in total autonomy, the challenge related to the valorisation and reporting of its sustainability performance, analysing social, environmental and corporate governance issues through a path of integrated monitoring, execution and analysis of its activities and related impacts.
The decision to undertake this path has a clear intent: to generate value in a long-term perspective, leveraging the principles of efficiency, equality, flexibility, inclusion, transparency and sustainability, principles that characterise the company’s strategic vision.
Dear Stakeholders,
I would like to begin this letter by thanking each and every one of you for your cooperation and the trust you have placed in our organisation.
It is with great pleasure that we present to you our 2023 Sustainability Report.
This document is an important opportunity to share with you the progress we have made over the last three years – since Proger began its sustainability journey – the challenges we have faced and the future goals that will guide us towards increasingly responsible development.
Our vision is to create sustainable value for all our stakeholders by balancing economic growth with environmental and social responsibility. We firmly believe that sustainability is a key component of our long-term business success. We have embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate sustainability into all our business activities. Recognising the importance of a responsible approach to environmental, social and governance issues, we have worked hard to reduce our environmental footprint, promote the well-being of our employees and local communities at various levels affected by our operations, and ensure transparency and integrity in all our actions.
The document we are presenting to you is a detailed overview of all aspects of Proger and its approach to sustainability.
Among the key achievements of the past year, I would like to highlight the following:
Understanding the needs of our human resources and the role they play within the organisation was the basis on which we established Proger’s new course in 2023. It is a reform that the management strongly wanted and that was implemented with the direct involvement of our employees. The internal communication processes, the definition of career paths, training, corporate well-being, the establishment of a genuine welfare policy and a clear and transparent remuneration policy have had such a strong impact that they have led to the definition of a new corporate organisation chart; this new chart has seen the emergence of young people in positions of responsibility as well as the creation of the new corporate function dedicated to sustainability and new strategic roles such as that of the Executive Senior Advisor for ‘People, Culture & Change’.
In 2021, we decided to embark on this ambitious journey by submitting to a public sustainability rating; 2022 and 2023 were the years of consolidating a true culture of sustainability in all its aspects within the company, which rewarded our efforts with a Class A rating.
The year 2023 also ends with the best financial performance in Proger’s history, and this is no coincidence! At Proger, we believe that a more sustainable, inclusive, fairer and more transparent business is necessarily a better performing and more efficient business. That is why we will continue to invest in promoting sustainable growth.
Our commitment to sustainability is driven by the belief that only through an integrated and collaborative approach can we build a better future for all. Sustainability is a shared responsibility. With your trust and cooperation, we will continue to make a difference every day in building a fairer and greener society. We invite you to continue to follow us, share your views and work with us to achieve our common goals.
Thank you for your continued support.
