Port of Genoa – Petroleum Dock

Description

The technical dock “Calata Olii Minerali” serves the needs of the two users, ENI and ESSO (ExxonMobil), currently operating through the existing berths on the west quay for the loading of products onto tankers. In order to allow the new 130 m long oil tankers to dock safely, a “rotation” of the eastern quay solution was developed, granting a wider access opening and the consequent possibility to dock inside. With this new configuration, operators will be able to have a new ship berth in the eastern quay equipped for the reception of oil products from tankers up to 130 m long by means of 2 marine loading arms for each operator, loading of oil products on lighters/trailers with separate berths for the two operators through flexible hoses.
