New Ferrandina-Matera railway line awarded to Proger’s JV

Works entrusted to ICM with Proger, Rocksoil and Ingegneria del Territorio

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana has awarded the works for the executive design and construction of the new Ferrandina-Matera La Martella line to the JV led by ICM, as general contractor, together with Proger, Rocksoil and Ingegneria del Territorio.

The EUR 308 million contract is scheduled to start by the end of the year and should be concluded by 2026. The new line will connect the city of Matera to the national railway infrastructure by means of a 20-kilometre electrified line with a single track, establishing long-distance railway connections between Matera and the high-speed system and enhancing the local public transport offer in the area, in terms of frequency and quality.

This assignment is part of a broader framework of important infrastructure projects in which Proger is involved, especially in southern Italy, such as the various lots of the Messina – Catania – Palermo railway line.
