Report 2024 on Italian Engineering: Proger first among independent companies

Presentation in Rome of the Guamari Report edited by Prof. Aldo Norsa

The President of Proger, Umberto Sgambati, took part in the debate for the presentation of the “Report 2024 on the Italian Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry”, the annual report of the Guamari Study Center edited by Professor Aldo Norsa (download here).

Proger, with a production value of 178 million euros in 2023, ranks first in Italy among independent engineering companies and fourth overall, after companies controlled by large groups such as Italferr, Rina Consulting and Eni Progetti. It should be noted that the ranking only takes into account the turnover of Proger Spa, not the contribution of the other companies of the group, which would bring the production to over 230 million, placing the company in second place overall.

The record value of production, with an impressive increase of over 60%, and a stable EBITDA at 14%, are a clear confirmation of the solidity of our operating model and the validity of the growth strategy we have adopted,” said Chairman Sgambati. “These results bring us closer to the now imminent goal of reaching EUR 200 million in production, which is a very important objective for us and, above all, the launch pad for a new and challenging phase of growth that we have been planning for some time”.

Mr. Sgambati also emphasized the importance of growing not only in terms of numbers, but also in terms of organization, dissemination of the corporate culture and improvement of skills: “We have planned growth through external lines with which we intend to integrate into Proger some of the excellence of specialized engineering in the various sectors. The aim is to consolidate ourselves as a reference player on international markets, offering the best of organized Italian engineering“.
